How to enroll a student in kindergarten for 2020-21 school year

Enrollment will open for the 2020-2021 school year on the Minneapolis Public Schools website in the late fall of 2019. Requests can be done online through the following address: http://studentplacement.mpls.k12.mn.us/ The deadline to request a school is usually in February, but check the MPS website for more information as that time approaches. 

Families can request up to two schools for pre-K-8, and Northrop is in attendance zone 2D. The other elementary schools in our zone include Bancroft and Folwell, and Northrop; Northrop Elementary feeds into Sanford Middle School and Roosevelt High School. We offer school tours for prospective families before the school request deadline, and more information will be available in the late fall under the School Tours section of the Northrop website.

How to enroll a student for the 2019-2020 school year

Enrollment is done through the district student placement center, and can be contacted Monday-Friday between 8 AM & 4 PM. Call 612-668-1840 for more information about enrolling a student for the current school year.
