The Newbery Honor Book, My Brother Sam is Dead is set in Massachusetts during the Revolutionary War.  It describes how American families were torn during this time between those that supported the the American Colonies breaking from England and the British Loyalists, who wished to remain part of the United Kingdom.  The Collier brothers use their strong knowledge of American history to make this an interesting and exciting account of the American Revolution.
